Kindergarten paces on Saturday at Meadowlands

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — The Kindergarten Classic for pacers kicks off on Saturday (July 23) at The Meadowlands with a pair of colt divisions and a single split for the fillies.

The colts begin with race four where Odds On Delray has the advantage of being blessed with the “champion gene.” By the great Somebeachsomewhere from the three-time Breeders Crown winning world champion My Little Dragon, Odds On Delray has impressively won a few 2-year-old races and a Pocono overnight in 1:54.2 for owner Dana Parham’s Odds On Racing. The colt starts from the rail on Saturday with Scott Zeron listed to drive for trainer Tony Alagna.

Lindythefourteenth looks to build on his unbeaten resume as he moves from morning trials into pari-mutuel territory for the first time. The Lindy Farms homebred has made stops at three different tracks and come away a winner on each occasion for trainer Frank Antonacci. Scott Zeron has drawn the assignment on him as well.

Trainer Alagna will send out half of the eight contestants for the filly division, race 11. She’s Watching sports the best record of Alagna’s quartet with a 1:53.3 win in a Meadowlands overnight, her career highlight to this point. The precocious half-sister to 2014 Meadowlands Pace champ He’s Watching is owned by Brittany Farms and Marvin Katz. Yannick Gingras has the drive.

It’s a full card of 13 races on Saturday and you can always get a head start on handicapping the Late Pick-4 with free program pages for the wager, compliments of TrackMaster.

Post time is 7:15 p.m.
