Trois-Rivieres, PQ — Driver Justin Filion made a bold, three-wide move after the three-quarter mile mark with 12-1 Kinnder Dangerous, collaring the race leaders and winning the Invitational Trot at the Hippodrome 3R Sunday (Oct. 8).

The ninth race co-feature first saw the race favorite, Torches Angel and driver Stephane Brosseau brush by KFB Amigo Cool (Stephane Gendron) to take the early lead over the sloppy, rain-soaked track in :28.3 to the opening quarter-mile.

Kinnder Dangerous upsets at 12-1 at H3R Sunday.

After the half-mile in :59.2, trainer/driver Kevin Maguire took Four Starz Speed first-over and they were followed on the outside flow by Jamigo (Daniel Laflamme) with Kinnder Dangerous and Filion third-over.

It was at the three-quarter mile marker in 1:30.2 when Justin Filion sent Kinnder Dangerous three-wide and the trotter not only responded, but brushed by the field to take command at the top of the stretch by a length and then continue on to win by two lengths. Jamigo was second with Artemis Duharas (Raymond Gingras) third.

For Kinnder Dangerous, a 3-year-old gelded son of Northern Escort, it was his fourth win this year. He was bred and is owned by Denitza Petrova of Melbourne. Kinnder Dangerous paid $27.90 to win.

In the eighth race Invitational Pace, National Debut showed true grit as the race favorite, getting parked out first-over and grinding his way to the winner’s circle with a gusty neck triumph.

With Wildriverbumblebee scratched from the race due to a fever, the field was reduced to just six starters. It was Crombie A and driver Mario Charron shooting to the early lead with Highpoint Chip (Pascal Berube) sitting on their backs to the opening quarter-mile in :28.3.

It was at the half-mile in :58.4 that Gendron came first-over with National Debt and they started coming after race leader Crombie A. By the three-quarters in 1:27.2, they were just a half-length off the leader, then only a neck as the two started down the stretch.

Neck and neck they fought to the finish with National Debt getting up over Crombie A by only a head in 1:57.1, the fastest mile on the sloppy track Sunday. Highpoint Chip was third.

Trained by Yves Tessier, it was the eighth win this year for National Debt, a 6-year-old stallion by Allamerican Native, owned by Francois Morin of Beauceville. He paid $3.60 to win.
