Nichols, NY — Former track champion Jim Marohn Jr. captured the $12,000 Open Pace with Knocking Around ($6.10) on Sunday (May 7) at Tioga Downs.

Knocking Around was a 1:51 winner in the Open Pace.

Sing For Me George (Corey Braden) would take charge to the first quarter. Owned by David McNeight Jr. and trained by Courtney McNeight, Knocking Around would take the lead just before the half. The 7-year-old Western Terror gelding would battle Sing For Me George all the way to the three-quarter mark.

Knocking Around held off the late charging Andreios Kardia (Aaron Byron) to win in 1:51. Quality Closer (Rick Dane) would finish third.

Live action returns to Tioga Downs on Friday starting at 6:50 p.m.
