Kurt Hughes Benefit Auction closes on Tuesday

by Jeff Porchak

Time is running out to bid on the auction items in the online benefit for injured horseman Kurt Hughes.

Hughes, a Maritime native, remains hospitalized after an accident in early November. Paul MacDonell, along with Ken and Ralph Sucee, have been inundated with donations since the auction was announced late last month.

New items to the auction include a golf foursome plus lesson, a stallion breeding, a PEI golf getaway package and Toronto Raptors tickets.

Please note that auctions are set to close on Tuesday, December 16, at 12:00 p.m. (EST) — provided that the auction does not receive active bidding in the last five minutes. Any auctions with bidding in the last five minutes will remain open for an additional 10 minute period after the set closing time to ensure that all users have a better chance at winning their desired auction.

Even if you’re not a harness racing fan or participant, there are wonderful golf packages, sports collectibles and dining opportunities at great prices still to bid on.

To avoid being shut out of the bidding process, register as a user to bid. Only registered users can bid, and you must confirm your registration by validating your e-mail address with the Web site before bidding.

Check out the auction at www.kurthughes.com.
