Lady Newton earns life mark; Merriman wins five

Washington, PA — Lady Newton rolled to her fifth straight victory — and earned a 1:51.2 lifetime mark, to boot — in Tuesday’s (Nov. 9) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 fillies and mares conditioned pace.

Lady Newton soared to her fifth consecutive win in Tuesday’s feature at The Meadows — and gave Aaron Merriman one of his five wins on the program. Chris Gooden photo.

Lady Newton got away third, but once Aaron Merriman sent the 1-5 favorite to the point at the quarter, the race for win was pretty much over. Lady Newton widened her lead late and defeated All Day Sunshine by 2-3/4 lengths, with early leader Something Reel third.
