Lady’s Dude stays hot, wins fourth in a row

Washington, PA — Lady’s Dude easily overcame post eight and powered to his fourth straight victory in Thursday’s (Feb. 10) $17,600 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Lady’s Dude needed :27.3 first-quarter speed to reach the point, but after Dave Palone gave him a :30 second-quarter breather, the 11-year-old Victory Sam-Lady’s Star gelding rolled home in 1:54.3 without an anxious moment. The pocket-sitting Mission Voyage was second, 2-1/4 lengths back, with Stickler Hanover a ground-saving third.

Ron Burke trains Lady’s Dude, who soared over $900,000 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Johnny Yoder. It was one of four wins for Palone on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Feb. 11), when the 11-race program features a pair of carryovers: $3,938.74 in the final-race Super Hi-5 and $3,805.12 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (races 4-8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
