Large crowd enjoys Prix d’Amerique at Vincennes
January 27, 2020,A total of 39,798 spectators saw Face Time Bourbon, driven by Björn Goop, win the Prix d’Amerique Sunday afternoon (Jan. 26) at Vincennes.
That is the highest number for a European harness track in many years.
This year’s race marked 100 years since the first edition of the Prix d’Amerique was raced and the organizers had done a good marketing job.
Also, the turnover in the tote was high.
Just in the Prix d’Amerique alone, the total pools reached $21 million and for the day the total handle was $33 million. However, in 2010 a record of $44 million was bet in the tote.
