Larry Jones, 69, dies

Columbus, OH — Larry Jones, 69, of Jackson, Mich., died Jan. 27, 2013.

Along with his wife, Linda, Mr. Jones raised and raced many very nice horses over his years in the business, Stir Fry, Insipid, Oakmont, Spicy Cinnamon and Casino Showgirl were just a few.

Mr. Jones worked as a meat cutter from the age of 16, but he loved racing horses. He was a longtime owner/driver/trainer/breeder member of the USTA and lifetime member of the MHHA.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; daughter, Tammy; son, Dave (Kari); grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica), Danny, Tiffany, Kortney and Karly; great-grandson, Devin; mother-in-law, Betty; sisters-in-law, Sandra, Jaime and Debbie; and brother, Asil.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Thursday (Jan. 31) — visitation from 5-8 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1) — funeral services at 12 noon. Chas. Burden Funeral Home, 1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI.
