Lee wins for second consecutive week in Hot To Trot Series

East Rutherford, NJ — With another week of amateur racing at the Meadowlands in the books, familiar faces found themselves in the winner’s circle for the second consecutive week.

Joe Lee, driving the favorite again as he did last week, Global Revolution, sat the two hole for over a half of a mile this week. With David Glasser aboard Winwood Scout going out for the lead from post position six, he carved out some fast fractions for the first half-mile, which allowed Lee to sit content in the pocket. His task was a bit more difficult this week, as he was assigned the outside 10 post but easily got the pocket before the quarter.

The race remained this way until just after the half. Lee decided to pop the pocket and clear to the lead as the 10 trotters entered the stretch. The outer flow could never catch up to the top two until the deep stretch. Lee did end up winning by a comfortable 2-3/4 length margin and Glasser was able to hold onto second by a nose. Multitaskr Hanover came from way back with Jennifer Lappe in the sulky to pick up the show dough.

Although Lee was the favorite, his backers were happy that they were able to still collect $6.40 for a $2 win bet at the windows. The mile was timed in a fast 1:54.3 on this perfect racing weather night with 81 degree temperatures at post time. This 6-year-old gelding by Conway Hall is owned by Bill Lambos and Dionisios Liberatos. The trainer is Robert Bongiorno.

The fifth leg of the Hot To Trot Series will continue next Friday night at the Big M. The first post is slated for 7:15 p.m.
