Campbellville, ON — Lexis Noah, driven by Jack Moiseyev, defeated post time favorite Text Me in the final strides to capture the C$130,000 Ontario Sire Stakes Gold Final for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Monday night (Oct. 4) at Mohawk Racetrack.

Lexis Noah defeated Text Me at the wire in the OSS Gold Final on Monday.

Windsong Geant (Mark MacDonald) was the quickest off the gate from post seven, taking his rivals past the opening panel in :27.1 with Text Me (Randy Waples) positioned second.

As the field headed towards the half-mile marker, Text Me pocket-pulled and took over command, taking his nine rivals past the middle-half in :56.1 and 1:25.3.

Arriba Amigo (Trevor Ritchie) came first-over around the final turn and Moiseyev had Lexis Noah tracking him. As the field turned for home, Text Me was put to pressure by Lexis Noah and the son of Malabar Maple was victorious in the final strides, stopping the timer in 1:55.3 with longshot Zorgwijk Kingpin third.

“Going past the quarter, Trevor (Ritchie) was out there and I got on his back and followed him and he took me to where I wanted to go,” Moiseyev commented to WEG’s Chris Hickey in the winner’s circle.

“At the top of the stretch I thought I had a lot of trot. The horse on the front is a real good horse (Text Me) but with a good trip like that he should finish strong. (Norm) Dunstan said he was much better this week.

“I think he’s getting smarter, he follows cover real good and always gives you a nice kick coming for home. That’s probably one of the better ones he beat (Text Me) looking ahead to the super finals, so he’ll be right there I believe.”

With the victory, Lexis Noah has career earnings of C$133,760 for trainer/owner Norm Dunstan. He paid $14.00 for the win.
