Washington, PA — Lexus Markus won a stretch-long duel with Icanflylikeanangel to capture his second straight in Thursday’s (Feb. 2) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 Conditioned Trot.

Lexus Markus pulled the pocket for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. into the final turn and finally wore down the game Icanflylikeanagel, downing him by a neck in 1:55.4. Fawn De Touch rallied for show.

Ron Burke trains Lexus Markus, a 6-year-old Amigo Hall-Lexus Helios gelding who pushed his career bankroll to $138,637, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Jeremy Indof collected fine wins on the 13-race card, including three for trainer Dirk Simpson, while Wrenn nearly matched that with four victories, including a pair for Burke.
