Lies The Truth goes for four straight

by Lynne Snierson, publicity director, Rockingham Park

SALEM, NH — Lies The Truth will try to make it four wins in a row when he takes on a field of five other top pacers in Saturday’s featured $10,000 Invitational Pace at Rockingham Park.
The four-year-old gray gelding, who is trained by leading conditioner Jamie Smith and will be guided by regular driver Michael MacDonald, should be able to handle the slight rise in class and has been made the 9-5 earling line favorite. David’s Rainbow, a seven-year-old gelding shipping in from The Meadowlands and making his first start at Rockingham, should get plenty of support at the betting windows, especially as he’ll be partnered with leading driver David Ingraham. David’s Rainbow is the 5-2 second choice in the morning line.
Lies The Truth has been on a tear at Rockingham this summer, winning not only his last three stratight races, but also winning five of his last eight races here and finishing second the other three times out of the gate. In 11 total starts this year, he has five wins and three second place finishes.
Also on Saturday, Rockingham presents the second in the summer series of Budweiser Blasts at the main bar in the Grandstand. Budwesier T-shirts, hats, and other promotional items will be available while supplies last. The evnt starts at 1:05 p.m., the same time as first post for the 11-race card.
On Friday, David Ingraham was named the Coors Light Driver of the Week. This marks the third time this season he has been so honored, and he currently leads in the points totals for the Coors Light Driver of the Year.
