Life Source dies at age 14

Lexington, KY — Life Source p,7,1:48 ($1,844,445), was humanly euthanized at Peninsula Farm on Feb. 17, 2011, after a chronic battle with arthritic and respiratory problems. He was 14.

The son of Life Sign-She’s Pure Silk-Nihilator was foaled, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm as a yearling for $25,000. He raced successfully from 1999 at age 2, through 2005, taking winning marks each season.

Life Source was trained by Joe Holloway during his 2- and 3-year-old seasons and later by his owner, Richard Branca.

He lived his last six years at Peninsula Farm where his life began.
