Lindiliana, dam of Lindy Lane, dies

Hightstown, NJ — Lindiliana, the dam of Dan Patch Award-winner Lindy Lane, died Wednesday morning (Feb. 7) at her lifelong home of Lindy Farms, farm manager John Belskie said. She was 30.

A daughter of Speedy Crown out of Petrolianna, Lindiliana raced nine times in her career, posting three second-place finishes, before joining the broodmare band at Lindy Farms.

Lindiliana’s first foal was a son of Valley Victory named Lindy Lane. As a 2-year-old, Lindy Lane won six of nine races and earned $262,563 in purses. He received the Dan Patch and Nova awards for best 2-year-old male trotter. For his career, Lindy Lane won 11 of 21 races and $895,110. He finished second to Continentalvictory in the 1996 Hambletonian.

As a sire, Lindy Lane’s offspring included Dan Patch Award-winners Syrinx Hanover and Windylane Hanover as well as millionaires Hellava Hush and Like A Prayer.

Lindiliana’s other foals included stakes-winner True Diva, who is the dam of stakes-winner Lindy’s Tru Grit.

Several of Lindiliana’s daughters remain in the Lindy Farms broodmare band.
