Liteningonthebeach wins second straight in Meadows top pace

Washington, PA — Liteningonthebeach threw down a swift 1:21 three-quarters and rolled home to capture his second straight in Friday’s $19,200 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Sandbetweenmytoes shot the Lightning Lane to cut into the lead but fell a length short of the 3-year-old Downbytheseaside-Peanutbettor Shake gelding, who prevailed in 1:50.2 for Aaron Merriman to match his career fastest. Fourever Boy rallied for show.

Bill Bercury trains Liteningonthebeach, who was unraced at 2 but has banked $220,510 this year, for Renee Bercury.

Ronnie Wrenn Jr. teamed with trainer Ron Burke for three wins on the 13-race card.
