Little Brown Jug future wagering announced

by Tom White, publicity director, the Little Brown Jug

Delaware, OH — Future wagering on the Little Brown Jug will be offered twice leading up to the 65th renewal of the 3-year-old pacing classic at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair. Each wager will be for a period of four days.

Wagers will be accepted at racetracks and pari-mutuel sites throughout North America and Europe. The future wager allows fans to bet early on all 3-year-olds. The minimum bet is $2.00 and all future wagers are win betting only. Every 3-year-old pacer in North America is included in the Jug field because if a colt wins the Cane Pace he can be supplemented into the Jug.

There again will be a team of racing analysts and handicappers who will select 23 horses for each pool. The rest of the horses will be packaged together into one “field” wager. Simulcast Director Jason Settlemoir will compile the selections of the panel and establish morning line odds for each of the 23 horses.

Each of the two betting pools will be offered for a period of four days.

Little Brown Jug Pool 1:
Thursday-Sunday, August 26-29
Opens at 12 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, August 26
Closes at 11 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, August 29

Little Brown Jug Pool 2:
Sunday-Wednesday, September 19-22
Opens at 12 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, September 19
Closes at 11:30 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, September 22

The winner of each pool will be determined by the official first place finisher in the 2010 Little Brown Jug to be raced Thursday afternoon, September 23.
