Live racing action returns to Rosecroft early in 2020

Fort Washington, MD — Live racing action returns earlier than usual at Rosecroft Raceway for the 2020 opener on Sunday (Jan. 19).

Live racing will continue every Sunday and Wednesday with a 7:15 p.m. nightly post time through May 27.

There are a few exceptions to the regular schedule. There will be no racing on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 2). Rosecroft will also be dark on Easter Sunday (April 12), but we will race the following Monday (April 13). Live racing will also take place on Kentucky Derby day (Saturday, May 2), and Preakness day (Saturday, May 16).

The track will be open for training on Wednesdays (Jan. 8 and Jan. 15) from 9 a.m. to noon.

The first qualifier of the year will be held on Wednesday (Jan. 15) at 11 a.m. The entry box closes Tuesday at 10 a.m. for qualifiers.

The draw schedule will be Thursday for Sunday, and Friday for Wednesday. Scratch time is the following day by 9:30 a.m. The first draw of 2020 will be on Thursday (Jan. 16). Entry box closes at 9 a.m.

The 2020 winter/spring racing application is due by Jan. 15 and is available online at www.rosecroft.com.
