Local Girl favored in Green Acres Final

by Don Bielak, publicity director, Freehold Raceway

Freehold, NJ — Stake Your Claim Stable, David Hamm and Golden Goose’s Local Girl has been installed as the solid, 7-5 morning line favorite in the $35,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes Green Acres Final for three-year-old trotting fillies at Freehold Raceway on Wednesday (September 21).

Most recently, Local Girl got a pocket trip and finished second behind Motivational’s 1:57.3 tally in last week’s round of the Green Acres. All told, the daughter of Enjoy Lavec has accumulated a 4-1-3 across the board record in 11 starts this year, with $28,485 in earnings.

Local Girl will leave the gate from post two in the Green Acres final. Jim Pantaleano, who has been aboard for all of Local Girl’s Freehold starts this season, will drive for trainer Ross Croghan.

Rounding out the field are the Trond Smedshammer-trained entry of Laughing Louder and Exit Row Hanover, the Karen Garland-conditioned duo of Slice Of Heaven and Chianti, Teola and Real Dough.
