Longshots prevail at Running Aces

from Running Aces

Columbus, MN — For the second straight night, horses from nine different stables won the nine races on the program at Running Aces Harness Park on Sunday (June 23).

Even more alarming is the fact that not one single off-time favorite prevailed on a night when longshot players should have gone home as very happy campers. Average win price for the night was $22.71 with win wagers returning from $5.20 to $60.60.

As a strong second choice in the betting, Rich Dessert (Tim Maier) provided the lowest win price in a $3,500 Minnesota-sired older trot.

The other Minnesota-sired event, a $14,500 race restricted to 3-year-old trotters, saw French Eclipse (Jenni King) lighting up the tote board at odds of 29-1.

Although nine different trainers found the winner’s circle Sunday night, there were two drivers that managed to score doubles. Steve Wiseman won with Roger J and I Reckon So, while Jason Ryan was victorious with both Abovethenorm and CMR Windmach.
