Lorentzon, Deaton double up in Kentucky Mini Series

Oak Grove, KY — Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel on Wednesday (Nov. 4) played host to a new Mini Series for Kentucky Sire Stake or Fair Stake eligible 3-year-old trotters.

Eight trotting fillies lined up behind the gate on a warm, sunny fall afternoon in the first of the two $15,000 elimination races. Graceful Winner with driver Elliott Deaton got up in time to beat Delovely Hall and driver Randy Crisler by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.4. The 3-year-old daughter of Manofmanymissions is trained by Anette Lorentzon and is owned by Kentuckiana Racing Stable.

The second class, for 3-year-old colt trotters, saw Elliott Deaton steer Some Chapter to a wire-to-wire win in 1:55.3. The gelding by Chapter Seven dug in to hold off Golden Genes with driver Kyle Wilfong by three-quarters of a length to earn the victory for trainer Anette Lorenzton and owners ACL Stuteri Ab and Kjell Johansson.

The $25,000 finals will be held on Nov. 15.
