Lou Macs Review dies at age 25

Columbus, OH — Lou Macs Review, a top trotting mare in the late 1980s-early 1990s, died Dec. 10, 2011, at Paul and Brenda Walker’s farm in Owen Sound, Ontario. She was 25 years old.

Bred by Bob MacDonnell and Ron Loucks she was purchased by Paul Walker and the Carscot Stable as a yearling. Lou Macs Review went on to earn $560,958 lifetime with 26 wins. Among her many accomplishments, including multiple Ontario Sires Stakes wins at two and three, was the Ontario Sires Stakes championship at three over fillies and colts. She was a high class performer as an older mare, including a second in the Breeders Crown.

Lou Macs Review was also a prolific broodmare. She produced five in 2:00 and three better than 1:56 with her progeny earning $1.11 million to date.

She was owned throughout her entire career by Paul Walker and the Carscot Stable and was buried at Paul and Brenda Walker’s farm.
