Lucan Hanover was a 1:53.1 winner in the Dream Maker Series.

The son of Western Ideal-Lauren Order took over command past the opening panel in :27.4 and never looked back as he posted panels of :56.4 and 1:25.4 before edging away from his rivals in deep stretch to score the victory. Captive Audience (Paul MacDonell) finished second with See And Ski (Jody Jamieson) third.

“This week, I put him in a much better position,” Zeron said following the win. “He’s a really nice horse, my favorite to drive of Casie’s (Coleman) and he’s maturing quite nicely. He’s got a bright future ahead.”

Casie Coleman trains the maiden-breaking winner for owner West Wins Stable and Steve Calhoun. Lucan Hanover’s bankroll now climbs to $15,830 as he paid $7.90 to win.

Evenin Of Pleasure, driven by Sylvain Filion, captured the other division in 1:53.4.

Meetbehindthebarn (Scott Zeron) left the gate alertly and crossed over ahead of Evenin Of Pleasure at the opening panel in :28.2. As the rookie pacers headed to the half, Jack Moiseyev angled the post time favorite, Talbotcreek Armani, out from fifth and brushed past the tempo setter to strike the front. The lead would not last as Evenin Of Pleasure quickly made the front past the half in :58.3.

From there, Filion rated the son of Dragon Again-Armbro Amour past three-quarters in 1:27 and used a :26.4 final quarter to score the comfortable 1-3/4 length victory. Dress The Part (Randy Waples) came from off the pace to finish second with Meetbehindthebarn third.

“My horse was pretty good last week and he came a great last quarter,” Filion said after the win. “We were not going much speed (at the half), so I was confident we were going to make the front. He did it pretty easy tonight and he’s learning each start, that’s all you can ask for.”

Trained by Richard Moreau for owner Gestion Jean Yves Blais, Evenin Of Pleasure increased his bankroll to $16,261 as he celebrated his first career score from two starts. He paid $9.70 to win.

The C$50,000 final will go to post on Monday (July 30).

Also on the program, rookie trotting fillies contested the opening round of the In Free Trotting Series.

Lady Laker, driven by Trevor Ritchie, used a ground-saving trip to score in the first C$20,000 division in 1:59.1.

Lady Laker enjoyed a pocket-trip behind Alphadoodle, who led through fractions of :29.4, 1:00.4 and 1:31.2. Lady Laker then angled to the outside and used a :27.4 final quarter to seal the comfortable victory. Cristi Dream (Scott Zeron) finished second with Alphadoodle completing the triactor.

Trained by Allen Tomlinson and owned by David Vanderhyde, Lady Laker remained unbeaten in two career starts as her bankroll climbed to $11,750. It was a new lifetime best for the daughter of Lockkeeper-Hyercast as she paid $7.90 to win.

In the second and final division, Bethel Hanover and driver Randy Waples went gate-to-wire in 1:59.3.

The daughter of Donato Hanover-Beignet Hanover led her rivals past fractions of :29.4, 1:01.1 and 1:30.3, before using a :29 final quarter to score the victory by 6-3/4 lengths. Pocket-sitting Lunch Time (Anthony MacDonald) stayed for second, over Bostonz Credit (Rick Zeron).

Trained by Staffan Lind for owner Bender Sweden Inc., Bethel Hanover scored her first victory in as many appearances. Her bankroll now sits at $9,900 as she paid $7.60 to win.
