Columbus, OH — Breeders Crown winner Luck Be Withyou will stand at Maple Lane Farm in Grabill, Ind. for the 2018 season. His service fee will be $4,000.

The 6-year-old son of Western Ideal-Trim Hanover possesses a lifetime mark of 1:47.4 achieved at age five, has banked $1.45 million during his career and has a record of 88-28-15-5. Trained by Chris Oakes, Luck Be Withyou was recently purchased by the Luck Be Withyou Group and was previously owned by John H. Craig and Norfolk Racing Stables. The stallion is a half-sibling to world champion, Dan Patch and O’Brien Award winner American Jewel (American Ideal, $1.8) and Source Of Pride (American Ideal, $322,734).

His dam, who is by Camluck, collected $123,117 on the racetrack and is a half-sister to four horses that earned $100,000 in Tens Hanover (Western Hanover, $156,630), Took Hanover (The Panderosa, $641,485), Tyler Hanover (The Panderosa, $175,452) and Triple V Hanover (Somebeachsomewhere, $188,103).

Throughout his racing career, Luck Be Withyou was known for his high speed and competitiveness, as he faced the best of his generation. A Breeders Crown winner at age two, the stallion was second in the $540,000 Messenger Stakes and the $400,000 Carl Milstein Memorial as a 3-year-old. At age four, Luck Be Withyou captured the $500,000 Ben Franklin final and was second in the $136,500 American-National Stake, while the following year he was third in the $225,000 Jim Ewart Memorial and the $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial Invitational. In 2016, as a 6-year-old he competed primarily in Open handicaps, but compiled a record of 18-4-6-0 with $136,325 in purse money.

Luck Be Withyou‘s sire, Western Ideal, was a Breeders Crown winner, world champion and Dan Patch Award winner, but also has excelled in the breeding shed. The stallion is responsible for nine champions and his 926 starters have earned $121,826,649. Western Ideal is also the sire of top stallions as is demonstrated by Rocknroll Hanover, American Ideal and Always A Virgin with two young stallions Vintage Master and Artspeak poised to emulate him.
