Washington, PA — Mac Deeno opened an insurmountable lead into the final turn and cruised to his second straight win in Wednesday’s (Dec 21) Holiday Series for $20,000 claiming trotters at The Meadows.

Mac Deeno was fourth down the backside when Tony Hall sent him on his way. The 6-year-old son of Broadway Hall-Macdeena forged ahead by four lengths at the top of the lane and won geared down by 7-1/4 lengths in 1:56.1. Jailhouse Buckaroo was third-placed-second while Chuckie Me finished second but was placed back to third for a pylon violation.

Tyler Stillings trains Mac Deeno, who now boasts $251,877 in career earnings, for Rags To Riches Of PA.

Wednesday’s program also featured the second leg of a Holiday Series for $10,000 claiming trotters, with Mr Quaker taking his second consecutive series win for Hall and owner/trainer Sarah Andrews. The championships of both series are set for Monday, Dec. 30.

Elsewhere on Wednesday’s card, Windsong Leo plowed through his opponents — and a sudden snow squall — to collect his 14th win this year, a 1-length score in 1:51.3, in the $18,000 Open Handicap Pace. Bettor Than Spring and Do Work Son completed the ticket. Dave Palone drove the 7-year-old Jereme’s Jet-Windsong Goldie gelding, who pushed his career bankroll to $577,560, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura.

Hall, who notched career win 6,000 Tuesday, finished with four victories on the 13-race card.

Following a holiday break, live racing at The Meadows resumes with a special Thursday program on Dec. 26 that will feature a $105,000.96 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 PM.
