Mach It So won the William Haughton Memorial and returned $36.40 to win.

He’s trained by Jeffrey Bamond Jr. and owned by Bamond Racing. It was only the second win of the year for the 5-year-old son of Mach Three-Beach Dancer in 12 starts. Lifetime, he has captured 21 of 54 starts with a bankroll of $991,439.

State Treasurer (David Miller) was a fast closing second and Foiled Again (Yannick Gingras) was just behind him in third. Pacesetter Luck Be Withyou (Brian Sears) finished fourth.

Luck Be Withyou cleared to the lead just past the :25.4 first quarter and Dancin Yankee (Jim Morrill Jr.) was off the rail to challenge just past that marker, with Foiled Again behind him.

Luck Be Withyou was still on the lead at the :54 half and the 1:21.4 three-quarters. As they turned for home, challengers were coming from inside and outside, with Mach It So finally getting to the top. State Treasurer was coming fastest of all on the outside and Foiled Again was outside of him, but Mach It So held them all off.

“I worked out a perfect trip, second over with live flow,” said Tetrick. “It led me right up to where I needed to be and my horse finished it off well.

“My horse is probably not as good up-and-up on Doo Wop (Hanover), but when he trips out like that he’s pretty tough to beat. And he proved that tonight.”
