East Rutherford, NJ — Four-time Dan Patch Award winner Anndrovette, sent off at odds of 36-1 from post 10, rallied in the stretch to overcome Sandbetweenurtoes and then held off Table Talk by one length to win Saturday’s (July 18) $213,450 Golden Girls for older female pacers at Meadowlands Racetrack in 2:02.4 at 1-1/8 miles.

Anndrovette rallied in the stretch to win the Golden Girls.

Anndrovette went to the lead in the opening quarter-mile, reached in :26. She continued to lead as the field hit the half in :55, but was facing pressure from Sandbetweenurtoes, who soon moved to the front. Sandbetweenurtoes was on top at the three-quarters, reached in 1:22.3, but Anndrovette found another gear in the stretch.

Table Talk finished second and Sandbetweenurtoes was third.

It was only Anndrovette’s second win in 16 races at the Meadowlands. Her previous triumph came in the 2012 Overbid final.

“I think the mile and an eighth definitely helped her,” winning trainer Jeff Bamond Jr. said. “You can definitely never count her out. She’s one for 15 (at The Meadowlands), she definitely surprises you. This race really surprised because of the 10 hole and (36-1 odds). I think she really surprised me, but she always does.”

Anndrovette has won two of 11 races this year and earned $202,712 for owners Bamond Racing and Joe Davino. She has earned $3.3 million in her career.

An 8-year-old daughter of Riverboat King-Easy Miss, Anndrovette paid $74.20 to win.
