Mares top first day of Mixed Sale

Columbus, OH — The first day of the Standardbred Mixed Sale on Friday (Nov. 12) at Harrisburg featured a stakes winning 2-year-old pacing filly and a pair of broodmares.

Hip number 1960 was the 2-year-old pacing filly I Kill Time, who sold for $170,000. The Western Ideal-Her Mattjesty-Matt’s Scooter lass was purchased by Odds On Racing and was consigned by Walnridge Farm. I Kill Time was originally scheduled to sell on Saturday, but her sale was moved up so she could compete in the $147,600 Matron Final on Saturday night at Dover.

I Kill Time has won six of 10 starts this year, with earnings of $106,825. She took her mark of 1:54.2f in winning her Matron elimination on Nov. 6. I Kill Time was also a winner in the $100,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Final on Sept. 25 at Freehold.

Hip number 1377 was the 4-year-old trotting mare Chicy Micky, who sold for $140,000. The Kadabra-Dream Valley OM-Valley Victory mare was purchased by Diamond Creek Farm and was consigned by Peninsula Farm.

Chicy Micky earned $73,181 in just nine career starts and took a mark of 2,1:57.2 at the Meadowlands. She was bred this year to Muscle Hill.

Hip number 1449 was the 3-year-old trotting filly Celebrity Nike, who sold for $115,000. The Yankee Glide-Gutsy Lobell-Speedy Somolli sophomore was purchased by Hanover Shoe Farm, Inc. and was consigned by Northwood Bloodstock Agency.

Celebrity Nike was winless in seven starts as a freshman, but did take a qualifying mark of 2:01.3 at The Red Mile. She was also bred in 2010 to Muscle Hill.

The Mixed Sale concludes on Saturday, with racehorses in the spotlight.
