Okemos, MI — Marilynn L. Bangert (Peasley), 64, of Haslett, Mich., died September 12, 2011, at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing.
She was born in Niles, Mich., on July 11, 1947. The graduate of Niles High School dedicated her life to caring for harness horses and was a longtime member of the USTA and MHHA.
She also enjoyed baking and sports, and was most notably known for being a passionate Notre Dame fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Tami Johnson; son, Jeff Babcock; three grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Farris and Melody Rockwell; and brothers, Dean Vollman and Jon (Lynn) Vollman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Bangert; parents, Fred and Treva Vollman; grandson, Michael David Johnson; and nephew, Shannon Dale Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday (September 22), with visitation one hour prior to services, at New Hudson United Methodist Church, 56730 Grand River Ave., New Hudson, Mich., with Rev. Gerald Hunter officiating.
