by Leon Zimmerman, for the New Jersey Sire Stakes

Trenton, NJ — Market Share, undefeated in five career starts, has been chosen Horse of the Year for 2011 in the Green Acres Division of the New Jersey Sire Stakes.

The award, which is voted on annually by the Sire Stakes Board of Trustees, is based only on performances in the NJSS Green Acres Division.

The son of Revenue S-Classical Flirt won three legs of the NJSS Green Acres series at Freehold Raceway for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings. With Jeff Gregory driving, the colt set a Green Acres record of 1:58.4 in winning the $25,000 championship final of that series.

Trained by Linda Toscano for co-owners Richard Gutnick and Gary Cocco, Market Share also won a $25,000 New Jersey Futurity at Freehold, finishing the year with career earnings of $36,250.
