Mary Beth Koch, 62, dies

Columbus, OH — Mary Beth Koch, 62, of Tinton Falls, N.J., sister of Meadowlands Director of Racing Peter Koch, died Dec. 27, 2013.

She was a 1969 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School and a 1973 graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C., where she also worked as an usher at the JFK Center.

She was community minded, working as an emergency room volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center and, when not helping others, loved her time at the beach and was a long time member of Monmouth Beach Club.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth; siblings, William Jr., Peter (Cindy) and Susan; and many dear nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Sr.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 2) at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, N.J. A memorial mass will be at 9 a.m. on Friday (Jan. 3) at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Colts Neck, N.J. Disposition will be private.
