Mary Katherine Brickler, 81, dies

Columbus, OH — Mary Katherine “Kathy” Brickler, 81, of New Madison, Ohio, died Nov. 12, 2020, at her son Brian’s home.

She was born May 27, 1939 in Greenville, Ohio, and the daughter of the late William and Opal (Hughes) Meiring.

Mrs. Brickler was retired from Neff Lettering of Greenville where she had been employed for 38 years as a plant manager. She enjoyed going to auctions and horse races and was a member of the USTA and the Darke County Horsemen’s Association.

She also liked playing bingo, bowling, watching NASCAR and QVC Shopping Network.

Mrs. Brickler had a very special relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John E. They were married Feb. 18, 1963. Also surviving are her children, Kenny (Heather) Hofacker, Rusty Hofacker, Randy Hofacker, Jeff and Brian (Santena); step-daughter, Bevy Stump Briggs; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Frank Pittman; grandson, Dustin; and step-son, Larry Hummel.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County or the State of the Heart Care of Darke County.
