Chesapeake City, MD — On Oct. 13, Winbak Farm held a tour for representatives of the Maryland Horse Council and a six-member Swedish delegation.

Winbak Farm held a tour for representatives of the Maryland Horse Council and a six-member Swedish delegation.

The Swedish delegation consisted of Mats Genber, publisher of Gallop Magazine and secretary of the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities; Catarina Genberg, editor and creative director of Gallop Magazine; Staffan Lidbeck, DVM, Chef d’equipe and Team Sweden eventing; Lena Mamaqvist, president of Skanes Equestrian Society; Kent Olander, general manager of Jagersro Racecourse; and Karl-Henrik Heimdahl, DVM and CEO of Swedish Warmblood Association.

The Maryland Horse Council representatives included Theresa Brophy, director of Maryland Department of Agriculture’s International Marketing, Ross Peddicord, executive director of the Maryland Horse Industry Board, and Ellen James, Maryland Stable Inspector.

The farm’s management team was able to network with the guests during a luncheon. Racing rules and breeding strategies were among many topics discussed.

While at the farm, the group enjoyed a Clydesdale wagon ride around Tybridge, which is where the majority of Winbak’s yearling operation is, and also toured the main farm, where yearlings are being prepped for the upcoming Harrisburg Sale.
