Maryland Sires Stakes championships Wednesday at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Four Maryland Sires Stakes championships are on the line Wednesday night (Oct. 3) with each division going for $67,000 at Rosecroft Raceway.

Pat’s A Keeper is a perfect five-for-five so far in her career, netting $50,050 for her efforts. Jared Moyer will drive the Lockkeeper freshman trotting filly for owner Pamela Wagner and trainer Arlene Cameron. She will leave from post four in the Earl Wagner Memorial.

Bossy Hilly picked up a win in an elimination last week and leaves from post five for Jonathan Roberts. Her win in 1:59 last week for breeder Graham Grace Stables, Bib Roberts and trainer Leon Harris was a lifetime best.

Rusty’s Houdini has been perfect in two elimination wins for owner Andrew Scheller and trainer Jerry Nock. Jason Thompson has masterfully led the Rusty’s For Real 2-year-old pacing gelding on the local scene, setting a new lifetime mark last time in 1:54.3. Rockin The Shades was super in an elimination win for Russell Foster last week, winning in 1:55.2 for owner-trainer Kerry Welty. Post draw sent Ocean Downs MSS champion Owzitgoin to post nine for Frank Milby and Berzerker, who won an elimination in 1:55.4, leaves from post eight in the Wayne Smullin Memorial for colt and gelding pacers.

In a wide open distaff pacing division, lightly raced Anna B who has won both lifetime starts leaves from the rail in the Ralph Hayward Memorial. John Wagner drives for owner-trainer Roger Hans. Jonathan Roberts and How Bout Dat Rusty, who dominated MSS action at Ocean Downs, leaves from post seven for owner Al Carter and trainer Michael Hall.

The freshman trotting colt division goes postward in race eight and any number of contenders could emerge. Seven of the nine horses have posted a win. Tony Morgan picks up the drive on Remarkable De Vie for owner Steven Mullen and trainer Syl King Jr. The altered son of Charlie De Vie wired the field in an elimination for Allan Davis last week in 1:59.2. I Deliver scored wins in both eliminations for Roberts and owner Iron Mine Branch and trainer Greg Haverstick in 1:59.3.Whoopdee Goo, who took the Ocean Downs final, leaves from post six for Jim Morand. The son of Googoo Gaagaa has won four of six for owner-trainer Richard Hans.
