Ft. Washington, MD — The Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association announced its support of Penn National Gaming’s application for 2013.

“We are very happy that Penn National has applied for dates in 2013,” said Thomas Cooke, President of the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association. “The Standardbred industry in Maryland cannot survive and thrive without Rosecroft. Once again, under very difficult circumstances, Penn National has stepped up and been a friend to the hard working horsemen of Maryland.”

Sharon Roberts, Executive Vice President of Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, said, “We thank Penn National for applying for dates for 2013. We are looking forward to working with them to keep harness racing alive in Maryland. As has been their practice, Penn National has come through for the horsemen once again.”

The 2013 race meet will run March 9 through June 1 for the winter/spring meet and September 14 through December 21 for the fall meet. Penn National will continue to show a strong commitment to Maryland racing by giving a racing preference to Maryland owned, sired, trained or foaled horses.

The current live racing meet runs through December 22.
