Massachusetts Race Horse Development Fund left intact

Columbus, OH — On Friday (July 7) Massachusetts horsemen, both Thoroughbred and Standardbred, won a major battle when the Commonwealth’s Race Horse Development Fund, which was instituted in 2011, was left largely intact by the legislature.

In danger of losing $13 million in funding, legislators determined the economic impact of the industry was of paramount importance and reached an agreement on a 2018 budget bill worth $40 billion.
