Massachusetts Sire Stakes contested at Plainridge

Norwood, MA — Four Massachusetts Sire Stakes races for 3-year-olds were contested on Thursday at Plainridge Racecourse.

The $21,200 first race for 3-year-old pacing colts & geldings was won by Twodimesandanickel and driver Mike Eaton for owner/trainer Ed Blash of North Oxford, MA in 2:01.1.

The $22,000 second race for 3-year-old pacing fillies went to Native Bombshell, who was driven to victory by Jim Hardy for owner/trainer James Smallwood in 1:58.1. This filly had won all three preliminary legs.

The $20,000 third race for 3-year-old trotting colts & geldings went to Pioneer Valley and driver/trainer Dan Daley in a time of 2:02.2. The colt is owned by A. Daley, Lake Worth, Fla; A.C. Crawford,Cazenovia, NY; R.M. Lombardo, Solon, OH and R.A. Brooks, Greene, NY. The gelding swept the preliminary legs.

Finally, the $22,000 fourth race for 3-year-old trotting fillies was won by First Tail U See and driver/trainer Ron Abbott for owners Stephen Mehrbach, Hackettstown, NJ and Edward R. Reich, Middletown, NY in a time of 2:02.2.
