Maven heads up Miss Versatility at Meadowlands

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — The third leg of the popular Miss Versatility series for trotting mares is on the Friday night (July 12) card at the Meadowlands. Eight of the finest will compete in this Grand Circuit event for a purse of $40,000 in race 11.

Maven has been invincible thus far in four 2013 starts for her connections, with two of those wins coming at Mohawk in legs one and two of the Miss Versatility. She is 6-5 on the morning line to continue her streak for owner WJ Donovan, trainer Jonas Czernyson and her regular driver Yannick Gingras.

Making her first start of the season on Friday is a familiar foe of Maven’s from last season, Win Missy B. This 4-year-old daughter of Conway Hall won the Kentucky Filly Futurity and was second to Maven in last year’s Breeders Crown on her way to more than $1.5 million in career earnings for Bob Key. John Campbell has the assignment for trainer Paul Reid.

Post time at the Meadowlands on Friday is 7:15 p.m. Visit the Meadowlands website for more details.
