Twaddle, daughter of Standardbred trainer Timothy Twaddle and Sophia Twaddle, of Canonsburg, Pa., is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa. Twaddle, 18, is one of three children in the family, with siblings Lexi, 16, and Parker, 12, living at home.

“My biggest goal right now is to earn my bachelor’s and successfully complete the master’s program to land a well-paying job at a prestigious hospital,” Twaddle reports. “As a Physician Assistant, I would like to work in the pediatrics field or with neonatal care. This can be achieved by being employed at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital. These two locations will allow me to fulfill my wishes of treating babies and children with the utmost care.”

Twaddle was named to the Dean’s List for her first semester at college, in addition to being an active member of the Gamma Delta sorority, where she participates in their Service for Sight philanthropy, assisting the blind in numerous ways.

As well, during her years at Canon-McMillan High School, where she maintained a 3.6 GPA, she volunteered at both the Washington Hospital Radiology Department (2016-2020) and Washington Women’s Health Center (2016-2020) and was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.

Currently, she is a member of her university’s Washington Fellow’s Program, where students dedicate themselves to bettering the community through volunteering and outreach.

“Meadow is a very mature, well-rounded young lady with high standards and morals,” said Pastor Joe DiDonato, The Meadows Racetrack Chaplain. “I have served as the Chaplain for almost 28 years and her family has always been very respected and recognized as very honest, hardworking people. The Twaddle family, including Meadow, has helped our ministry in many ways make it through this very tough year of the pandemic. Meadow continued to excel academically in her first year of college despite all the setbacks and changes this past year has brought.”

“I have enjoyed a very close relationship with Meadow’s parents for more than two decades, and it’s a pleasure to witness this young lady’s development,” said Kim Hankins, Executive Director of the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association. “With her unparalleled work ethics, Meadow has been a role model to her two younger siblings. She was extremely athletic as she was a key component in capturing the state championship while on the Canon MAC Soccer Team. Meadow had demonstrated leadership skills for five years with the Victory Express Soccer Organization and is the perfect recipient to be awarded HHI’s Jerome L. Hauck Scholarship.”
