Meadowlands Fall Stakes applications available online

East Rutherford, NJ — Six stakes series will be featured during Meadowlands Racetrack’s fall meet that begins Saturday, October 23.

Applications for the late closing series are available under the Horsemen section of MeadowlandsRacetrack.com or by clicking here. Nominations close Friday, October 15.

All six events feature two preliminary legs worth $15,000 each and finals estimated at $50,000 (based on 30 nominations). All the finals will be raced Saturday, November 13.

Five of the six events are for pacers, including a pair of 2-year-old stakes — the No No Yankee for colts and geldings and the Savilla Lobell for fillies. Both are for non-winners of three or $50,000 lifetime (up to and including October 11). Both of these series will feature elims on October 29 and November 5.

The Escort for colts and geldings and the Stienam’s Place for fillies carry the same earnings limits but are for 3-year-olds. Elims are on October 30 and November 6.

The Willow Wiper for 4-year-old pacers who are non-winners of $150,000 lifetime will have its elims on October 30 and November 6.

The only trotting event is the Paul Doherty Memorial for 3-year-old colts and geldings who are non-winners of three or $50,000. The elims are on October 29 and November 5.

The Meadowlands fall meet runs weekends only, October 23-December 18. Post time is 7 p.m. for the Friday and Saturday cards. The season kicks off with an Oktoberfest celebration on October 23, followed by the track’s popular Halloween Costume Party on October 30.
