Meadowlands hosts announcer workshop

East Rutherford, NJ — As we approach Hambletonian Day, Ken Warkentin took a few hours out of his busy schedule to “school” some young, some old, and some seasoned race callers who wanted to call a baby race qualifier from the announcers’ booth at the Big M.

Fun was had by all who were in attendance on a beautiful Saturday morning over the mile circuit and after an hour or so of instruction by one of the best in the business, all took a shot to put their skills to task in calling a race from the booth.

A few guests stopped in to share words of encouragement including one of the newest
announcers in the game, Edison Hatter and fellow handicapper at the Big M, Dave Brower. All got through their calls with major excitement and enthusiasm and were asking when the next class would be held.

A special thanks for all of his hard work and time goes to Ken Warkentin and the Meadowlands for allowing all who participated a special day, where they could announce like a professional behind the mic. Under the guidance of one of the best.
