East Rutherford, NJ — Veterans Day (Nov. 11) proved to be a memorable one for one lucky horseplayer who hit the Meadowlands Jackpot Super High-5 for $13,395.06. The winning ticket was purchased at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.

The wager featured a carryover of just under $10,000 coming into Friday night. The five-race winning sequence featured 19-1 winner Harper Lee followed by 57-1 Lastladystanding, 17-1 St Lads Morgan, 2-1 Paydaze On The Way and 3-2 favorite First Best for fifth.

Nobody had hit the Jackpot Super High-5, which is a 20-cent wager, at the Meadowlands since the fall meet began.

The parade of long shots also triggered a massive trifecta payout. There was only one winning ticket, purchased for $1, which returned $21,424.80. The ticket was purchased at the Meadowlands.
