East Rutherford, NJ — The Meadowlands Racetrack will now close out its 2009 Harness Meet on Saturday, Aug. 22, with $1.7 million in Breeders Crown championships for older horses.

Along with the $350,000 Woodrow Wilson and $400,000 Sweetheart, the Breeders Crown events were originally slated for Friday, Aug. 21, with eliminations the week prior. However, the track will now be dark Friday, Aug. 14, due to a New York Jets pre-season game at home. Eliminations for the four Breeders Crown open events will now be contested on Saturday, Aug. 15.
