Meadowlands overnight and Kindergarten Series details

from the Meadowlands Media Relations Department

East Rutherford, NJ — Horsemen should be aware of a few details as The Meadowlands returns to live racing next week (Friday, Oct. 21).

To open, Racing Secretary Pete Koch has included a short series for 3-year-olds of each sex and gait that are non-winners of $50,000 in 2016 as of the date of entry for a purse of $12,000. The top finishers will return next weekend to race for $20,000 added. There is a $100 entry fee for each class.

The condition sheet for Oct. 21 and 22 is available here.

Also, those trainers with freshman fillies and colts eligible to the Kindergarten series should be aware that the conditions were adjusted this year to accept horses in the final that have made only one start in the series. The language states that any horse declared for the final that has met the existing two start requirement would have preference over any one start entrant regardless of point total.

You may read the conditions by clicking this link, then scrolling to the Kindergarten conditions. The up to date series standings may be viewed here.
