Meadowlands stakes winners gain ground in Poll

Freehold, NJ — Winners at the Meadowlands last weekend were the winners in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, with trotter Bee A Magician and pacer Pet Rock benefitting most.
Captaintreacherous, who won the Meadowlands Pace to go unbeaten in six starts this year, remained in the No. 1 position, but saw Bee A Magician pick up three first-place votes to cut into his lead slightly. Bee A Magician won the Del Miller Memorial in 1:51, the fastest-ever mile for a 3-year-old female trotter.
Three-year-old female pacer I Luv The Nitelife, who won the Mistletoe Shalee at the Big M, held on to third place in the poll while Maven, who finished in a dead heat for win with Cedar Dove in the Miss Versatility Series, moved up one position to fourth.
Pet Rock moved into the rankings at No. 7 after winning the William R. Haughton Memorial in 1:47, breaking the stakes record of 1:47.3 set by Jenna’s Beach Boy in 1996.
