Washington, PA — In addition to seven divisions of a Pennsylvania Stallion Series stake, Friday’s card at The Meadows offers a carryover of $11,117.49 in the Pick-5 spanning races 10-14.

The potential reward is great but the handicapping will be challenging, as the Pick-5 includes four nine-horse fields and one field of eight (before any scratches). The wager kicks off with an especially intriguing race pitting eight maiden 2-year-old colts and geldings; no fewer than five appear poised to notch that initial victory.

The $140,000 stake features 2-year-old filly pacers, with the stables of Ron Burke, Randy Bendis and Bob Krenitsky, Jr. poised to make a splash; Burke sends out four fillies while Bendis and Krenitsky will be represented by three apiece.

The Meadows also will kick off Adios Week on Friday with the finals of the Miss Adios Contest, a perennial fan favorite. First post is 6:55 p.m.
