Melvin Boysen, 82, dies

Columbus, OH — Melvin Boysen of Freehold, NJ died at age 82 on Thursday Oct 4, 2012. He was a horseman for almost all of his life. He was most successful with a horse named “Sandy Pants” who was a pacer and mare of “Fancy Pants Sandy” who is currently racing.

He was a member of the USTA and SBOA for almost all of his life. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jean A. Boysen of Freehold Township; one son, Mel Boysen and his wife, Lori of Freehold Township; one daughter, Karen Skok and her husband Kevin “Wally” of Freehold Township; four grandchildren Erin Boysen of Manalapan, NJ, Jamie Hansen and her Husband Richard of Jamesburg, NJ, Ryan Boysen of Freehold Township, NJ and Shawn Boysen of Freehold Township, NJ; four great-grandchildren Amanda, Skylar, Gary and Brayden.

A private ceremony was held at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home and Melvin was cremated so he could be back home at his farm in Freehold Township with his family.
