Sacramento, CA — A memorial service for Kirk Breed will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 22) at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, 6151 H St. in Sacramento.

A celebration of his life will follow in the Rodeo Arena at Cal Expo. Flowers can be sent to the Temple. Donations can be made to the Sacramento Horsemen’s Association’s Horses, Hope and Healing Fund to benefit children’s riding lessons.

Mr. Breed served as executive director of the California Horse Racing Board from Feb. 26, 2008, until his death on Aug. 7, 2013.
