MGM Northfield Park to host 3-year-old trotters in Buckeye Stallion Series action

Grover City, OH — The second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series wraps up Sunday (June 26) at MGM Northfield Park with the three-year-old colt trotters.

Four division of nine will take the track with each division carrying a purse of $17,500.

Hustlenomics (Jason Thompson), Phantom Tom (Tyler Smith), and Uncle Leon (Hunter Myers) were first leg winners at Miami Valley Raceway on May 2.

In the first division, Phantom Tom is the 2-1 favorite.  Scott Cox trains the son of Long Tom who will be looking for his second win of the year.

The second choice, Doc’s Spirit has hit the board in four of six starts this year.  Kurt Sugg will drive the Southwind Spirit gelding for trainer Wes Hershberger.

Hustlenomics will look for his fifth win in nine starts this year in the second division.  Todd Luther trains the son of Full Count.  Jason Thompson will drive the 9-5 favorite.

Ryan Miller trains the second choice, Shamrock.  Tyler Smith will drive the Uncle Peter gelding.

In the third division, Uncle Leon will look for his third win of the year.  Dustin Arledge trains the son of Uncle Peter.  Uncle Leon will be driven by Hunter Myers.

Another son of Uncle Peter, Mo Bay, is the race favorite.  Sam Schillaci trains and Greg Grismore will drive the 5-2 favorite, who is looking to win for the fourth time this year.

In the final division, Slim Jimmy is the 7-5 favorite.  The son of Long Tom has hit the board in five of seven races with two wins.  Hunter Myers will drive the Jason McGinnis trainee.

Also looking for his third win of the year is My Guy Wrapsitup.  My Guy Wrapsitup is the second choice at 2-1.  The son of My MVP is trained by Theodore Gawron and will be driven by Ronnie Wrenn Jr.

First race post time at MGM Northfield Park is 6:00 p.m.
