Miami Valley adds make-up day & qualifying session

from Miami Valley Raceway

Lebanon, OH — Miami Valley Raceway has announced it will race on Monday night, April 7 to make up for a weather-related cancellation on Sunday, March 2. In addition, a special Tuesday afternoon 1 p.m. qualifying session on April 1 has been slated in an effort to accommodate an abundance of stakes and green horses who are currently readying to return to the races.

“We hope as many trainers as possible will take advantage of the Tuesday, April 1 qualifying session,” said Race Secretary Gregg Keidel. “We will continue to offer two or three qualifying races before the programs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and most Sundays, but we’re currently getting more entries for qualifiers than we can accommodate with stall space on those nights and hope that our special stand-alone qualifying day will resolve that problem. There is no limit to the number of horses a trainer can enter to qualify on April 1, so I’m hopeful a lot will do so and we can clear up the current logjam on racing nights.”

With the addition of the make-up program, Miami Valley will be racing six nights a week during the final four weeks of its inaugural season. Tuesday nights will be added beginning April 15.

Miami Valley is also pleased to announce that for three consecutive nights next week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 27-29) the famed Budweiser Clydesdales will be performing on the track and available for photo opportunities.
