Michael Scores the best at Batavia

Batavia, NY – Sandra Compton talented 6-year-old pacer Michael Scores, ended up in place he’s very familiar with, the Batavia Downs Gaming winner circle, Saturday night in the $10,000 featured Open Pace.

Michael Scores was last seen at Downs in October winning the Kane Memorial Pace, the historic track’s showcase event in track record time of 1:52.1, the gutsy gelding made his return to Batavia a winning one by beating six other rivals in the weekly pacing feature, in a time of 1:56.1. Kevin Cummings drove the son of Held for Ransom for trainer Jim Compton.

The race unfolded with Michael Scores getting away last but picking up cover from a first over Blue Rock Bash. Taking over the lead approaching top of the stretch, “Michael” drew off to win by two lengths. He paid $3.10 to win.
